Laura Dauz

Qualification:

Eastern Oregon University-Arts in Teaching

Hello! My name is Laura Dauz. I was born and raised in Germany and moved to America when I was 12! I have lived in different states but currently call the sunny state of California home! I went to Eastern Oregon University, where I graduated with a bachelor’s in Modern Languages and Global Affairs, a Masters in Education, and certifications in ESOL and reading intervention.

This will be my sixth year teaching; I have taught every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade within a classroom. I have also had the opportunity to teach middle school, which pushed me to become a stronger educator! At this point, I can say I love all grade levels, and each brings unique experiences, personalities, and opportunities. I love teaching because I find joy in watching my students flourish and find happiness exploring and learning in and out of the classroom. I would describe my teaching style as structured student-centered learning, emphasizing self-exploration and creating a safe space for free thinking with support and guidance when needed.

Outside of the classroom, you can find me traveling, reading, trying new foods, and finding any opportunity to be out and about, whether playing sports, going on walks, concerts, or exploring the town. I am beyond thrilled to live in Taiwan and delve into its culture, history, and people, while also getting a chance to connect to my own cultural ties to the region.
