Qualification:

Indiana University (IU) – majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in literacy

Hi all, my name is Annie Leonard! I am thrilled to begin my teaching career and join the Cornel family. I currently am completing my senior year at Indiana University (IU) majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in literacy. During my time at IU, I had the opportunity to teach preschoolers to eighth graders. I have learned tons about teaching and fostering growth within different types of learners from these experiences in the classroom.

My passion for education and being around children inspired me to become an educator. I always admired and looked up to the teachers I had, and I want to be a role model for all my students. I believe a classroom that promotes collaboration, creativity, and a positive community can increase a student’s desire to learn and gain self-confidence. I also love teaching science and history because it allows students to explore/understand how the world works. I can’t wait to meet my students and make sure they feel supported and safe in our classroom every day.

In my free time, I love to hike and travel. I’m excited to visit the National Parks in Taiwan and explore the beautiful island. I’m almost always listening to music; I love going to concerts and music is a wonderful way for me to connect with the world. I love spending time with my friends and family, and making people laugh. Can’t wait to have great school year!
