🌈 Cornel Creative Exploration Summer Camp | Week 3 Highlights

🏅 Do you know what the Olympics are all about?

This week, our English theme was The Olympics! Students learned about different countries, languages, and cultures while discovering the true Olympic values of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

The children then competed in our very own Cornel Olympics, participating in exciting events such as Discus Throw, Javelin, Arm Wrestling, Obstacle Course, and Soccer. Throughout every activity, they communicated in English, worked together as teammates, and encouraged one another.

What impressed us the most was the wonderful sportsmanship they displayed. Even when they lost, they cheered for their opponents with genuine smiles. When they won, they celebrated with humility and shared the joy with their teammates. These valuable life lessons are worth far more than any medal. 🏅💛

🎨 Creative Enrichment Classes

Our students also continued exploring the worlds of science, art, and music!

🔭 Science
Students discovered how concave and convex lenses affect the way we see objects by experimenting with telescope lenses. Through hands-on activities, they learned the fascinating principles of optics.

🧸 Art
In our fluid bear art class, students freely combined vibrant colors to create their own one-of-a-kind Fluid Bears. Every masterpiece reflected each child’s creativity and imagination.

🎵 Music
During music class, students practiced rhythm and melody with the steel tongue drum and learned to play the classic song “The Moon Represents My Heart.” The beautiful melody helped develop both their musical appreciation and their confidence.

⛏️ Field Trip | Baba Tunnel – A Day as Little Miners

This week’s field trip took us to Baba Tunnel, a coal mine, where our students became little miners for a day!

Wearing miners’ helmets, they explored a real mining tunnel and experienced what life was like for miners in the past. The highlight of the trip was the gemstone mining activity. Armed with digging tools, the children carefully searched through the sand, excitedly discovering colorful gemstones hidden beneath the surface. Every new find brought smiles, cheers, and a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

The adventure continued with decorating their own miner helmets and creating personalized souvenir keychains, giving each child special memories to take home.

Through English, science, art, music, sports, and outdoor exploration, our students continue to build creativity, confidence, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
