Reading Challenge Week: A Dr. Seuss Inspired Celebration at Cornel
This week, our school celebrated a joyful and creative **Dr. Seuss Reading Week**, filled with engaging activities designed to inspire students’ love for reading. Through programs such as **Readers’ Theater**, the **Reading Challenge**, and a variety of themed dress-up days, students experienced how stories can come alive beyond the pages of a book.
The celebration began on Monday with **Pajama Day**, where students came to school dressed in their coziest and most fun pajamas, creating a relaxed and cheerful reading atmosphere. To make the day even more special, students and teachers had the opportunity to taste the famous **Green Eggs and Ham** from Dr. Seuss’s classic story—made with spinach-colored eggs and ham. It was both a delicious and memorable experience that brought the story to life.
During **Crazy Socks & Creative Day**, students wore Cornel and Dr. Seuss themed plain T-shirts and invited classmates and teachers to write messages and doodle on them. Each shirt became a unique piece of art filled with friendship and creativity.
On Thursday, students celebrated **“Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” Day** by dressing as their future dream careers or as travelers ready for exciting adventures, encouraging them to imagine the many possibilities that lie ahead.
The week concluded with the highly anticipated **Book Theme Dress-up Day**, where each class dressed according to a specific book theme. Beloved characters and stories came alive throughout the campus, bringing literature into a vibrant and playful celebration.
It was truly a week full of laughter, creativity, and inspiration. Students’ enthusiasm and imagination allowed the stories of Dr. Seuss to come alive in our school community, making reading a joyful and meaningful experience for everyone.
