🌞 Cornel Summer Camp – Week 2 Highlights 🌞
Theme Exploration × Hands-On Learning × Houli Horse Farm – Circus
A week full of diverse experiences where children learned by doing, expressed themselves with confidence, and explored with joy!
From veterinary science and culinary creativity to earth science, art, and outdoor adventures, students gained knowledge, confidence, and unforgettable memories through immersive learning this week.
🩺 Vet Experience Day
One of the most anticipated activities this week—our veterinary lesson! The teacher brought in an adorable dog and a fascinating shingleback lizard for close observation and interaction.
Students learned how to read animal X-rays, identify bone structures, and understand the responsibilities of caring for animals.
One excited student exclaimed, “I want to be a vet when I grow up and help all the little animals!”
This heartwarming and educational session inspired compassion and a love for life sciences.
🍕 Creative Pizza Chefs
Art class turned delicious this week! Students rolled dough, added toppings, and crafted their own custom pizzas.
One child boldly topped theirs with a whole octopus, while another proudly made a “crispy” version, saying, “I like my pizza a little burnt!”
This activity was more than just cooking—it was a fun, flavorful opportunity for students to showcase creativity, preferences, and personal expression.
🧠 Earth Explorers × Animal Discoveries
In earth science class, students learned about various dinosaurs, evolutionary history, and how fossils are formed. Through drawing and discussion, they deepened their understanding of prehistoric life.
🌟In English class, the week’s theme was “Animal Discovery,” covering a wide range of engaging topics:
‣ Unique species like the frogfish
‣ Introduction to the world’s largest fish
‣ Animal senses and physical features
‣ Habitat exploration across the globe
‣ A Van Gogh-inspired art report
This multidisciplinary learning not only expanded students’ vocabulary but also sparked their curiosity and awe for the natural world.
🐴 Field Trip – Houli Horse Farm & Circus
Thursday’s field trip took us to the long-awaited Houli Horse Farm! Students observed the daily lives of horses, experienced horseback riding, and fed the animals themselves.
In the afternoon, they watched an incredible equestrian circus performance filled with breathtaking stunts and horse shows.
The children were amazed and thrilled by the spectacle, and the trip offered not just knowledge, but also a deep appreciation for animals and nature.
✨ After a fun and fulfilling week, our students engaged both their minds and hands—and their hearts too. They learned new skills, made new friends, and grew in confidence and curiosity.
We can’t wait for Week 3 to bring even more new adventures. Stay tuned and continue this wonderful journey of discovery with us!
